16 Years of Quality & Consistency

“The best Mexican food bar none in the Capital District and we’re very fortunate to be just a few miles from it 😀 Consistency thru out the Years keeps me coming back for more. Their House Margaritas are the Bomb too 😋 Rob is the most gracious Host and puts his Heart into it all. Go there you will love it!!!”

“A regional treasure worthy of the drive. Well balanced menu, priced right and executed well with remarkable consistency. Fun ambiance with an engaged owner. Sign up for their email and receive regular updates, deals, etc..”

“Great food and cold beer, fast service and accommodation to customers needs. Bueno!”

“Don’t waste your time with any other Mexican restaurants. Amigos is top notch and consistent”

“Stopped here on the spur of the moment while heading home from a brief road trip. We found easy parking in the lot behind the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations. We did not. She said she thought we could be accommodated if we didn’t mind a small table, “kind of in the middle of things…” It was fine. We were quickly handed the substantial menus, ordered drinks, admired the selections and then ordered Mexican onion soup and Salmon tacos from the daily specials menu. The place was hopping, with a variety of ages, couples and families. Our server, Tammy, was exceptional. She appeared calm and relaxed even though she had to be frazzled with a dining room full of people to keep an eye on. We felt our service was flawless. The food was perfect. Mexican onion soup seemed to be pretty much like the traditional kind, but with a tad more “heat”. It was just what we needed on a chilly evening. The three salmon tacos each consisted of a good-sized piece of grilled fish served hot on top of shredded, seasoned cabage and topped with crema, all on a warm, soft flour tortilla. They were delicious and the portion was enough for us to each bring half home, along with beans and rice, which we hardly touched. Desserts looked so tempting, from what we could see being eaten at the table next to us, but we were full! This place is a treasure, and we will be back.”

“We’ve been dining at Amigos since they first opened, many years ago. They are one of our favorite restaurants in the entire capital region. The food and service are top notch. A true gem worth finding.”

“The service, food and atmosphere were excellent. A hidden gem in the Saratoga area. We are from Los Angeles and Amigos Cantina would be a top notch Mexican restaurant in our area.”

“Authentic Mexican delicious food! Very friendly staff and fun decor. This is the best Mexican food in Saratoga Springs area! My family and I are regular customers. The spicy margarita is so good!!!”

“We had a fine takeout meal of Seared Salmon Tacos and Street Corn Crab Cakes. All sauces and salsas made from scratch. Yummy!”

“Staying in Saratoga Springs, but visited Schuyler House . While in the area decided to try Amigos Cantina for some good Mexican food and was not disappointed. Very cute indoor areas, has two distinct bar room, and a very cute outdoor area with twinkle lights etc. We ate outdoors. As seems to be the case in most restaurants now, due to covid, they were a little short staffed and consequently, the wait was a little longer for the food to be brought to the table. Staff did bring water and chips and salsa in timely manner. Food however was very good and they had a nice menu with lots of good vegetarian/ vegan options.Guacamole was great with plenty of chips. Fun ambiance and we will def return.”

“Cute place, fun vibe. Party of 4, we all enjoyed our meal. Fresh ingredients. My friend loves the crab cakes! (Not Mexican but very tasty!) I had the veggie enchiladas which were great. Our dates enjoyed their meals too. Good margaritas including a “skinny” option. I’d go back”

“Back again and enjoyed the Special – Habanero Chicken Fajita – sweet orange-habanero glazed chicken breast served with sizzling onions, peppers and tomatoes. With cranberry jalapeño salsa, pico de gallo, black beans and rice. So good and the Crema Catalana. Chocolate espresso creme brûlée was sooo good creamy rich and wonderful.”

“Been to this restaurant a few times over the years and delighted to find how this small town restaurant is so popular and so good. Some commented on here that the restaurant is loud. By New York standards no way. It’s a room filled with families. I could here the people next to me and across the table so that is perfect for a restaurant. They have an outdoor patio in the summer and in the past few years expanded with a second bar, unisex accessible bathroom and a lot more seating. Festive in atmosphere this is a great place to go for dinner lunch or special nights. Started out the Horny Margarita served in a wonderfully festive margarita glass. It packed the punch though I could taste the sour mix as being a mix. Just a hint of artificial. There was also a Patron margarita at the table which was great. For dinner we had the special a pulled pork enchilada with a spicy honey sauce. It was surprising different and delicious and the honey sauce was fantastic with the rice and beans. We had a table of eight and service was a little slow for our standard but we were in for a relaxing evening. Salsa was a fresh garlicky treat with warm chips. Enjoy, I know I did.”

“I was surprised to see the place full on a Sunday at 5 pm and took 2 hours to get through the meal but the food is worth it. From their Quesadilla to their burrito’s always fresh ingredients and cooked to order. Good bar selection. Their Queso is different as well with a corn pepper flavor so has a bit of tang. Dinner for 4 was $100 with 1 drink. Reasonable. They have outdoor seating but it was raining so we opted to stay in. Popular with locals and travelers and certainly a gem off the beaten path.”

“As restaurant owners ourselves, we can’t say enough good things about how Amigos has handled this pandemic and the experience for people dining here. Not only is the food incredible but the service and food is always amazing! Highly recommend the tacos and enchiladas and definitely get them with the black beans and rice which are outstanding as well. Cocktails are also “on point”! Love this place and have become regulars!”

“Great authentic food. This is my new go-to takeout. I’ve tried several Mexican restaurants, and this is by far our favorite. We will continue to enjoy the great food, deals and service. I highly recommend trying!!”

“A welcome greeting when we arrived. All the staff were so friendly, and the food was super delicious! The flavors were just right in the salsa and the chips warm and tasty. I especially liked the red sauce with my enchiladas. My partner and I each tried one of the tequilas from their menu and had a nice conversation with the bartender about the different kinds of tequilas. We will definitely be back!”

“Unbelievable food and drinks. Stopped here on a whim passing through to Chicago and cannot say enough. Best queso I’ve ever had and the tacos were unreal!”

“Oh man, it’s been a long time since I had Mexican food this good. I shared a crab cake appetizer with my husband, which we ate in record time, they were so good. My enchiladas were AMAZING, the pork was bursting with flavor and the sauce was beautifully spiced without being overly hot. If I had a singular critique it would be that the rice and black beans were a bit under seasoned for me. Definitely worth the trip from Schenectady!”

“Delicious food and great margaritas! Chile rellenos were excellent, fried avocado tacos were tasty and unique. Service was wonderful. A fantastic place to eat out in Schuylerville.”

“Had dinner for the first time on July 30th. Food was very good, margaritas were great, the restaurant is very clean, very friendly staff, service was unbelievably fast. Heather, the bartender is very nice and friendly. 3 margaritas, dinner and a large salad to go $46. Check this place out. You won’t be disappointed”. 👍👍

“Vibrant and spacious, delicious food, crazy good atmosphere.”

“Great atmosphere. Went on a busy Saturday for dinner. They were able to accommodate our party of five (in a four person table, we agreed to it) in less than five minutes. Attentive server, and good food. Authentic Mexican food, with a little extra fanciness. There’s a good reason they’ve been in business so long!”

“I keep waiting for the off day, but it never comes. It’s always the same; quality food, service and atmosphere. While we haven’t dined in the restaurant in a while they still give the most efficient service around during Covid, always adapting. The food is fresh with great flavor, drinks are awesome.”

“Yum yum yum! Love the take out experience and let’s just say, those margaritas are the bombdiggitty!”

“The takeout experience was great, the food was fantastic. Best takeout Mexican food I’ve ever had, would absolutely recommend the taco fiesta box!”

“Great place for takeout during a pandemic. Even though it is a bit of a drive for us the combination of very good food and safe and efficient takeout makes the trip worthwhile. The specials constantly change adding variety to an already good menu. There are actually some places that I have gone into where mask wearing among the staff was inconsistent. I have chosen not to return to those places. For people like me who don’t want to get sick or spread the virus the fact that they have set up a safe and efficient system adds to the motivation of making the drive.”

“Greeted right away, clean; friendly, efficient server. Wonderfully authentic flavors. Great Variety. Many price points to fit any budget.

“First time, but we’ll be back for sure!”

“If we have guests in town who want to dine out, Amigos Cantina is our first choice.”

“Great menu, professional staff, and good atmosphere all add up to a wonderful experience. The food is always delicious and consistently prepared. And the Margaritas are large. This is a good thing.”

“Good food for good prices. We have been here a few times and it never disappoints. The tacos are a good size too, so when I usually need to get 3 at other places, here 2 are more than enough.”

“Fantastic! authentic tasting dishes big portions and a huge tequila selection what more could you ask for? five stars all the way”

“Excellent spot for great Mexican food!  Loved the house margarita. Was made with no mix so it was not sweet at all. Food was phenomenal and service was excellent!”

“Great company for dinner. The food was well prepared and delicious. Service was excellent and quite friendly. Dinner for two with wine less than $70 I thought was reasonable”

“OMG, even better than last time! Soup was to die for.  Day of the Dead, cool. Dinners were awesome!  Can’t wait to go again!”

“Great atmosphere and excellent food. Like a few other eating establishments in the village, Amigo’s brings people from all around the local area for a great meal or evening out. The prices are extremely reasonable.”

“Hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant. We live on LI and have a place near Saratoga. The salsa and guacamole is super fresh. Excellent margaritas! And we enjoy the fish tacos and shrimp enchiladas. Great service and love the newly expanded space.”

“I lived in the area for many years and preferred Amigos to all other Mex restos in the around. Laid back vibe, great food, friendly staff, and NOT Saratoga. Now that I have moved away, it is a “must go” when I visit. Rare Vos on tap and the margaritas are great!”

“We just moved to Saratoga recently and felt like getting away from the track crowd. We ended up checking out Amigos Cantina on the recommendation of a friend. It was really good. The dishes were simple, but what really stuck out to my wife and I was the ambiance of the restaurant. We felt like we were in Mexico the second we stepped inside. We give kudos to whoever designed this restaurant because it was reminiscent of our Mexican vacations”

“This homey restaurant in Schuylerville was a sparkling gem. Walking into “cantina” was like going to your family’s own restaurant. We were greeted by owner Rob Chrust who seated us in the main dining area. He spent time with us explaining the history and menu. The arroz con polo was outstanding. Tasty chicken with black beans was extremely flavorful. The steak with rice was delicious. This was a great meal and worth the drive.”

“Drinks were wonderful, food was great! Staff was very friendly and attentive! I ordered the Chicken Quessadilla, brought half of it home, a lot of good.”

“We love coming to Amigos! Their salsa and guacamole are both homemade and outstanding. Our favorite entrees are the fish tacos and the shrimp enchilada- just delicious. Of course we have margaritas that are served in giant glasses and they are outstanding! Easily one of our favorite places to eat out. Owner Rob and staff are delightful people. A little gem just outside of Saratoga!”

“Great little joint with a diverse menu — and overfilled portions…you will NOT leave hungry. Very GOOD Margarita’s, guac always fresh, plates served hot, and the flan is GREAT.”

“My wife and I were curious about this place since learning that it was voted the best Mexican restaurant in Saratoga Springs’s “Fab Five” awards survey, despite being ten miles from Broadway. We like the Cantina restaurant in Saratoga itself, but this place really is better. We had dinner at the bar, and the friendly bartender made us some wonderful Margaritas. Then, after sharing some guacamole and a small Mexican pizza, I had a chicken fajita, while my wife had some chicken tacos. Both were superb, and we left quite happy. The prices here are also quite reasonable. Five stars.”

“I only have good memories of visiting this place with family. Fun, laid-back atmosphere, good food, friendly service.”
